Neymar arrives at Barcelona as Iniesta lauds potential partnership with Messi

BARCELONA star Andres Iniesta has backed summer signing Neymar to be a big hit at the Nou Camp, as the Brazilian arrived in Spain to complete his five-year-deal with the Catalan club.

Neymar will link up with Iniesta and the rest of the Barcelona squad next season after agreeing a five-year deal with the Catalan club.

The transfer fee Barcelona paid to Santos is thought to be at least £50m, but Iniesta claims the Brazilian has come "to the best place to grow" in the Spanish champions.

"He can bring us a lot because he is very talented player," said Iniesta. "He brings his ability to break down defences, to score, and to entertain. He is young. He has a long path ahead of him, and he is coming to the best place to grow."

Any concerns over Neymar's impending partnership with Argentinian forward Lionel Messi have been downplayed by Iniesta, who feels the two South Americans will compliment each other.
 
"He is coming to the best possible place for him," Iniesta continued. "Let him do what he does best, that is enough. It is great news that we can count on him. Surrounded by the people he will have here, he will get better and better.

Neymar was linked with both Manchester City and Chelsea before completing his move to Spain.

Barcelona have also announced the schedule for Neymar's first day at the club;

12:00: Photo session with the player at the Club offices.

Followed by medical check at Hospital de Barcelona.

The medical examination will continue in the Medical Centre at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper

16:00: Doors to Camp Nou open for members and fans.

16:45: Signing of contract in the Club offices.

17:45: Photo session before FCB crest outside Club offices (access 11) with president Sandro Rosell, vice president Josep M. Bartomeu and director of sport Andoni Zubizarreta.

18:15: Open doors presentation ceremony of Neymar as an FC Barcelona player, in the Camp Nou.

19:30: Presentation press conference in the Auditori 1899.
