Fulham set to snap up Roma's Maarten Stekelenburg

FULHAM are set to sign Roma keeper Maarten Stekelenburg for £3million this week.

Franco Baldini, the Serie A club’s sporting director, said: "I went to London for the sale of Stekelenburg at Fulham. I closed a deal subject to the usual conditions."
Stekelenburg's signing appears to put the future of current No 1 Mark Schwarzer into doubt, after the Australian recently admitted he could leave Craven Cottage.
Back-up keeper David Stockdale could also be on his way out this summer, with West Ham and Hull tracking the 27-year-old.
