FA suspend Spurs midfielder Andros Townsend for four months following betting probe

SPURS midfielder Andros Townsend has felt the full force of the FA after he was suspended for four months and fined £18,000 in relation to a betting offence.

Three months of Townsend's suspension has been suspended until 1 July 2016.

Townsend has been banned from all football and football activity, subject to any appeal.

He voluntarily pulled out of the England Under-21 squad and was charged for breaking FA Rule E8, which covers misconduct in relation to betting.

Townsend had been on loan to QPR since January.
